We have set out to do the unprecedented with the “OCEANIDI” project by taking the #OceanidiVow with undeterred passion and courage to do something about the conservation of our Oceans, Humanity and our Planet.

Conceiving it to be of Gargantuan proportions as to the Crisis itself, to outmatch the size of the Plastic Pollution crisis, so to be truly allowed to make a difference, and we will need a good chunk of change to meet the financial support to match.

Which to launch PHASE ONE of the Oceanidi project, we’ll need an estimated $1 Billion USD to build the the Naval Film Studios and the first “3 Vessels of the Pyrolysis Naval Fleet with a reserved capital to cover the first year’s operational costs.

$13 BILLION DOLLARS YEARLY DAMAGE

That is the Annual estimated Economic damage to our Marine Ecosystems that Plastic Pollution is doing every year as 8 Million Tonnes of Plastic Waste enter our Oceans, according to a UN article. It is absolutely unacceptable to not dedicate needed financial resources to Eradicate Plastic Pollution.

OIL SPILLS CLEAN UP COSTS COMPARISON

Because we understand what we are asking to put in to action the Oceanidi project to Eradicate Plastic Pollution, we like to bring some prospectiveness into play and talk about Oil Spills.

Oil spills are easily tracked to the source, and responsible parties are called to action, to both Clean Up the mess caused and also Pay Damages incurred to any receiving Coastline in which business is economically effected.

Instead with Plastic Pollution, while Plastic is an Oil by-product, there is no direct responsible party to be brought to call to action for the clean up, because truth is, we are all responsible, and we need to absolutely take a collective and definitive Global action.

Now consider this, $61.6 Billion US Dollars have been spent in the Clean Up efforts of the tragically infamous BP’s Deep Water Horizon Oil Spill, as reported by the well respected Washington Post which while surely having become the most costly Oil Spill Cleanup effort in History. Its $20 Billion US Dollars penalty payment inflicted by the US Justice Department as reported by the USA Today, also shows the accountability this events have, vs Plastic Pollution, but again, this it’s but ONE OIL SPILL of many.

Considering that Plastic Pollution is far worst and more disastrous than all of the OIL SPILLS put together in History, it’s very clear that a considerable amount of funds will need to be invested in the critical fight to Eradicate Plastic Pollution, and suddenly the $1 Billion USD budget for PHASE ONE to launch the Oceanidi project seems indeed a chunk of change in comparison.

THE ECONOMIC VALUE OF OUR OCEANS

As we talk numbers, it is also important to bring up numbers from a report commissioned by the well respected WWF organization, whose findings place our Oceans as the 7th largest world economy, with an estimated value of $24 Trillion US Dollars, with an annual turnover estimated at $2.5 Trillion US Dollars.

This makes our Oceans also an invaluable economic resource which must be protected before it’s too late. The oceans have given us so much, and they will continue to do so indefinitely, but only if we protect them, respect them, and make use of them in a sustainable manner, acting at once to preserve this preciously and incredibly important, yet delicate life giving ecosystem.

If our Oceans were a Countries, their Presidents or Leaders, would surely invest a considerable amount of funds in order to insure that they continue to prosper and generate Trillions of Dollars every year for the foreseeable future, and would make sure that steps were taken to preserve such preciously bountiful resources.

The fact that our Oceans are not only an incredible Economic resource to our World, but one that also gives Life at every corner, to the entire Planetary Eco-System off which all species on Earth, Humans included, depend on, makes it an absurdity that we have not yet done what it’s truly needed to preserve it, since our life absolutely can not exist without it.

Every Country in the World should come together to insure their sustainability and prosperity never ends, so that healthy life in our Oceans and on our Planet continues indefinitely, providing for the future generations to come.

The well known facts of the vital importance of our Oceans to all life on the Planet it’s clear, and while what we are asking might still seem a large amount of money to some, while substantial no doubt, it’s but a drop in a bucket all things considered.

FUNDING STRATEGY

To achieve such gargantuan, time sensitive and profoundly important first goal for this paramount cause, all alternatives of donation procedures as well as the possibility of raising funds trough third parties, the sale of merchandise etc. have been carefully taken in consideration.

However, while surely every single dollar would help indeed, everything had to be put in perspective of the size of our goal and its urgency, coming to the conclusion that the only way we can achieve this, is to choose a very different and unique approach to that of any and all other organizations.

For this it was decided that in Phase One, we will not ask the general public for donations, or ask to buy merchandise to help raise funds.

Instead to launch PHASE ONE of the Oceanidi project, we are involving the World’s Governments, Wealthiest Individuals & Largest Corporations.

“ULTIMATELY THIS WILL NOT BE A MATTER OF WHO WILL SUPPORT THE ERADICATION OF PLASTIC POLLUTION. BUT WHO WILL DARE NOT TO. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE US. BUT DO PICK AN ORGANIZATION TO SUPPORT BECAUSE OUR OCEANS AND OUR PLANET NEEDS US NOW.”
